Recommended. Pages are saved at 110 DPI, which is easy to read on screen and in print.

Why is the result sometimes bigger?

If a PDF is mostly text or has already been compressed, converting it to images won't reduce its size. In that case, we'll offer you the original file.

Are files sent to a server?

No. Compression happens in your browser. Large files may take a moment, depending on how powerful your device is.

Can I compress a secured PDF?

Yes, if it opens without a password. PDFs that require a password to open can't be compressed.

Try Lossless first. Text stays selectable and searchable. The savings are usually smaller because text takes up little space.

Black and white

For documents without color, this can shrink the file considerably further. Ideal for paperwork going to a Czech data box, a Slovak e-box, or a government office.
