Guide
What the registers tell you, and what they don't
ARES is the public register of the Czech Ministry of Finance. It combines data from the commercial and trade registers, the VAT register, and other records. For Slovak companies, we search the Register of Legal Entities (RPO), run by the Ministry of the Interior of the Slovak Republic.
Before your first deal
Check that the company exists, isn't in liquidation, and is based where it says it is. Copy the register details into your contract and invoice.
Company ID checksum
The last digit of a Company ID is a check digit, so the tool catches typos before it even searches.
Reliable VAT payer
When you pay a Czech supplier by bank transfer, check that their account is published in the Czech VAT payer register. Since 2025, this applies to every payment, whatever the amount. For Slovak companies, you can check VAT registration in the lists of the Slovak Financial Administration. You'll find the links next to the result.
