Working days, holidays, and deadlines
A working day is Monday to Friday, unless it's a public holiday. Good Friday and Easter Monday move every year, and the calculator works them out for you.
Invoice due dates
In practice, the due date is written on the invoice as a date, usually counted from the issue date. In the Czech Republic, if businesses don't agree on a term, the price is due within 30 days of receiving the invoice; more than 60 days requires an express agreement that isn't grossly unfair to the supplier (Section 1963 of the Civil Code). In Slovakia, without an agreed term, payment is due without undue delay once the supplier asks for it; an agreed term can exceed 60 days from receipt only by express agreement that isn't grossly unfair to the supplier (Sections 340 and 340a of the Commercial Code).
Deadlines that end on a weekend
If a deadline ends on a Saturday, Sunday, or public holiday, the last day is the next working day (Section 607 of the Czech Civil Code, Section 122(3) of the Slovak Civil Code).
Available working hours
Number of working days × shift length. With a 40-hour week, that's 8 hours a day. A public holiday on a weekday doesn't count toward the total.
