NordVPN Price 2026: What Basic, Complete and Ultra Really Cost, Including Renewal

02NordVPN plans and prices: 2 years, 1 year and 1 month

The pricing page shows prices in euros with the note “VAT may apply” (NordVPN). VAT is charged for the country you pick at checkout (help center). From Czechia, checkout added 21%, so the two-year Basic plan went from €94.23 to €114.02. Two-year and one-year plans are paid in full upfront (help center).

Per month, the one-year plan costs over 50% more than the two-year plan (€5.49 vs €3.49 for Basic), and monthly Basic at €14.99 only makes sense for a short trip. If you want a VPN for more than a year, the two-year plan saves the most. It renews as a yearly plan, though, so after the first 27 months you pay the same as a renewed one-year plan.

What 69% to 77% off actually means

On the two-year plans, NordVPN says “Save 69%” (Basic), “Save 75%” (Complete) and “Save 70%” (Ultra), and adds that it compares the intro price with the renewal price (NordVPN). So the €312.93 crossed out next to Basic is simply the €139.08 yearly renewal price stretched over 27 months. The button in this article promises 77% off: two-year Basic at €3.49 a month is 76.7% cheaper than monthly Basic at €14.99. Both numbers are true; they just measure different things.

03NordVPN renewal price and the three-year cost

When the first term ends, the subscription renews automatically for a year at full price. The checkout spells it out: yearly renewal after the first two years, €139.08 for Basic before VAT. The price may change, but NordVPN will email you before charging (help center). That is €139.08 a year instead of the roughly €41.88 a year implied by the intro price. Renewed Basic costs more than three times the intro price.

That is why it pays to look beyond the first term. Over 39 months, meaning 27 months at the intro price plus one renewed year, you pay:

The chart shows the two-year plan still wins, even with the expensive renewal: over 39 months it costs about €5.98 a month, against €9.56 a month over three years with the one-year plan and €14.99 with the monthly plan. You save the most by keeping an eye on renewal, as explained in the section on the guarantee.

04Basic vs Complete vs Ultra: what each plan includes

Basic includes the VPN for 10 devices plus scam protection and is enough for most people who want safe public Wi-Fi, privacy or access to content from abroad. Complete makes sense if you would otherwise pay separately for a password manager and cloud storage. It costs only €1.00 a month more during the first 27 months, but €80.40 a year more after renewal. Ultra adds Incogni, which asks data brokers to remove your personal data. It is mainly worth it if you get a lot of spam and scam calls.

You cannot downgrade an active plan. The only way is to request a refund within 30 days of your first purchase and buy again (help center). Upgrading is possible at any time in your Nord Account (help center). So it is safer to start with Basic.

05NordVPN Standard, Plus and Ultimate plans: what they cost today

The names Standard, Plus and Ultimate appear in NordVPN’s help center, on its blog and in its official renewal price list. They are not just old names for today’s plans, though. In the renewal price list, last updated by Nord Security on June 10, 2026, each of them has its own price and sits alongside Basic, Complete and Ultra (Nord Security). We found no source saying NordVPN renamed Standard to Basic or Ultimate to Ultra.

NordVPN itself points out that plan names differ depending on the country you connect from (NordVPN). According to the same article, as of September 2026, Ultra is the top plan in Czechia and Slovakia, while the UK and Germany get Ultimate Max. In an article with prices checked on October 24, 2025, NordVPN listed Plus as a step between Basic and Complete (NordVPN). The help center still mentions packages “such as Complete, Plus, Standard” (help center).

What it means for you: if you have an older Standard, Plus or Ultimate subscription, it renews at the price in the table, not at today’s Basic or Complete price. Standard renews at €149.88 a year, €10.80 more than Basic. One of the offers on the coupon page also renews at the Standard price, as described below. Your Nord Account shows exactly what your plan includes.

06NordVPN number of devices: how many can you connect?

Ten at once, on every plan (help center). The limit applies to devices connected at the same time. If several of your devices connect to the same server, each has to use a different protocol, so only a few of them can share one server and the rest connect to another.

07NordVPN coupon and promo codes

NordVPN’s checkout has a “Got a coupon?” field for codes; the help center calls it the promo code field (help center). There is no universal code that discounts everything. NordVPN recommends taking codes only from its official coupon page or from partners, and warns that third-party coupon sites often post fake codes (NordVPN). If a code does not work, checkout shows it and you pay the standard price (help center).

On the official coupon page, we found three offers on October 18. The code is applied automatically when you click through, so there is nothing to copy. We checked the amounts at checkout, because the page and the checkout did not match: for the two-year plan, the page promised €3.89 a month, while checkout showed €3.09.

So on October 18, the lowest intro price per month came from the coupon page: Basic for 24 months at €74.16. Our affiliate offer gives you 27 months for €94.23, which is €0.40 a month more, but three months longer. Renewal costs the same either way, so with one renewal the two routes come out almost even: €5.92 a month over 36 months versus €5.98 over 39 months. The 20-month offer renews at a higher price than Basic, and the three-month plan suits a longer trip, saving you almost half compared with paying monthly.

Other discounts

• Students and some professions: NordVPN offers an extra 15% off for students, graduates, teachers, healthcare workers, first responders and the military (NordVPN). According to the help center, the student discount is for ages 18 to 26 (help center).
• Refer a friend: inviting a friend earns you free months, though the website and the help center describe different terms (help center).
• Black Friday and Cyber Monday: NordVPN runs regular November sales, and the help center suggests checking its website for active deals.
• Creator codes: they work like any coupon and sometimes add extra months (NordVPN).

08Add-ons and payment: dedicated IP, VAT and currency

A dedicated IP cost €3.69 a month before VAT at checkout with two-year Basic. Setup can take up to three business days (help center). With another offer on October 18, we saw €4.19 a month, so check the price at checkout. It helps when your bank or a work system blocks you because of a shared IP address.

You pay in euros. Checkout warns that payments may include provider fees. If your card is in koruna, your bank converts the amount at its own rate and may add a foreign currency fee (help center).

Payment methods: the checkout we opened from Czechia offered card and Apple Pay. The help center also lists PayPal, Google Pay, cryptocurrency and bank transfer, but adds that some methods are not available in certain regions (help center).

The iPhone app has its own prices. On October 13, 2026, the Czech App Store listed CZK 319 to 349 for a month and CZK 2,290 to 2,690 for a year, including VAT, without naming the plan, and no two-year plan (App Store). Refunds for App Store purchases are handled by Apple only (help center).

09Money-back guarantee and switching off auto-renewal

NordVPN refunds you within 30 days of your first purchase. You request it via live chat, the request is processed within a few hours, and the money arrives within 10 business days. The guarantee covers only your first subscription; renewals are not refundable under this policy unless local law requires otherwise (help center). To switch off auto-renewal, log in to Nord Account, open the Billing tab, click Cancel next to auto-renewal and confirm. You get a confirmation email, and the subscription runs until the end of the paid term (help center). You can do it right after buying. Switching off renewal is not a refund request, though; that goes through live chat.

10NordVPN price compared with other VPNs

Of the services in the table, NordVPN is the most expensive, both in the first term and after renewal. 1. Decide how long you need it. For a single trip, the monthly plan at €14.99 is enough, and you can get a refund within 30 days. For a longer stay, the three-month offer on the coupon page costs €23.97. For more than a year, buy the two-year plan.
2. Pick Basic unless you want the password manager and storage. You can upgrade any time, but downgrading means a refund within 30 days first.
3. Compare the pricing page with the coupon page. On October 18, Basic on the coupon page came to €3.09 a month for 24 months, against €3.49 for 27 months on the pricing page.
4. At checkout, check the tax country and skip add-ons you do not need.
5. Switch off auto-renewal right after buying, in Nord Account under Billing. Your plan runs to the end and nothing more is charged.
6. Compare again before your plan ends. Renewing Basic costs €139.08 a year. According to the help center, a new purchase is added to your remaining time (help center), but we cannot tell in advance what price NordVPN will offer you as an existing customer. Check it in your account and compare it with other providers.

NordVPN is not the cheapest VPN, and if you let it renew without checking, it costs far more than its rivals. Still, Basic at €94.23 for 27 months is a fair price for one of the most scrutinized services on the market. Buy the two-year plan, compare the pricing page with the coupon page, switch off auto-renewal and decide again before your plan ends.
