STAVIRA

A new website and admin for STAVIRA, a Prague construction company. The website leads visitors to call or send an enquiry, and every service has its own calculator. In the admin the company edits every text and photo on the website and runs enquiries, customers, PDF quotes and a calendar of site visits.

STAVIRA

About the project

STAVIRA is a Prague construction company with more than thirty years of experience. It does masonry and tiling, bathroom and toilet core renovations, finishing work, paving and small repairs for households, businesses and institutions. We designed and built a new website for it, together with an admin where the company runs both the website and its jobs. The website is built on a bold red and black identity with construction motifs: a spirit level on the home page, a tape measure in the header and past projects shown as photos pinned to a board. It leads visitors to one step: send an enquiry or call. Every service has its own page with a calculator that carries the result over into the enquiry form. An enquiry from the website arrives at the company by email and is saved in the admin at the same time. There the company turns it into a customer, schedules a site visit in the calendar and puts together a quote. The quote is created as a numbered PDF and goes to the customer by email straight from the admin. Every text and every photo on the website can be edited in the admin, page by page. After saving, the website rebuilds itself and the change is live within a few minutes, while the website stays static and fast. In the admin the company writes news and tips, adds projects and testimonials, and manages services and the photo library. Personal data is looked after by a GDPR section that clears it automatically when retention periods end. The website measures its own traffic, without cookies and without storing IP addresses.

What it looks like

Design notes

  • Five services have five calculators: wall area, bathroom or toilet measurements, paint coverage, number of tiles and building a job. One button carries the estimate into the enquiry as a sentence. On a service page visitors can also tick what they need and send the list to the enquiry.
  • Projects are shown as photos pinned to a board, with an interior and exterior filter and a full screen photo viewer. Selected projects have a before and after slider. Every project has its own page with a description and the scope of work.
  • The enquiry form offers the type of work as tiles. It checks the email format and whether its domain accepts mail, and validates Czech and Slovak phone numbers. Vercel BotID and a sending limit protect it from bots. The customer gets an email confirmation.
  • Every page has its own search title and description, editable in the admin. The website has structured data for Google, alt text for every photo, a sitemap and its own images for sharing on social media. Photos load as AVIF and WebP in several sizes.
  • Signing in to the admin takes a password and a PIN, with a limit on attempts and password reset by email. There are three roles, Administrator, Managing Director and Owner, with an overview of permissions. Every change is written to the Activity log.
  • The dashboard shows upcoming appointments, new enquiries and reminders. The Quick call button creates a customer during the phone call, together with a job and a site visit date.
  • Enquiries have the statuses New, Contacted, Site visit, Quote, Done and Spam, internal notes and email replies from templates. One click turns an enquiry into a customer. The list can be exported to CSV.
  • Each customer has jobs with statuses from enquiry to done, quote items with prices and a contact history of calls, emails, meetings and notes. The quote is created as a PDF with a number and VAT and sent by email as an attachment. The calendar holds site visits, work days and calls.
  • Articles are built from blocks and can be scheduled for later. After an upload, the media library creates AVIF and WebP sizes on its own and checks alt texts. When an article or project changes its address, a redirect from the old one is created automatically. Deleted items wait in the bin.
  • The GDPR section sets retention periods, such as 7 days for spam and 12 months from the last contact for enquiries, and a nightly cleanup deletes the data. It keeps a register of consents and can anonymise data on request. Analytics uses no cookies, stores no IP and ignores bots and admins.
  • Ctrl K search covers the whole admin, and every section has help and keyboard shortcuts. Settings include a content backup and a maintenance mode. The admin comes with a PDF user manual. The whole admin also works on mobile and tablet.
  • The admin screenshots in the gallery show sample data, not the company's real customers.
