A new website and booking system for Eliška Balounová's hair salon in Radonice near Prague. Customers choose a service, a free slot or a home visit on their own and order gift vouchers. In the admin Eliška runs the calendar, bookings, vouchers, finances and all website content, from her phone too.

About the project

EB kadeřnictví is Eliška Balounová's one woman hair salon in Radonice near Prague. She works with women, men and children, loves highlights, airtouch and balayage, and also visits customers at home. We designed and built a new website, online booking, gift vouchers and an admin where Eliška runs the whole salon. The website is bold, in black and neon pink, with an animated headline cut through by scissors and both a light and a dark mode. It leads to two steps: book an appointment or call. Booking takes four steps: who it is for, service, time and contact. Free slots are worked out from the opening hours, exceptions, service lengths and appointments already taken. The server checks every booking again, so two appointments can never overlap. Customers can choose a home visit with a fee per kilometre, attach photos of the look they want, add the appointment to their phone calendar and cancel it themselves up to 24 hours before. A gift voucher is designed in five steps: value or service, one of three designs, a dedication and delivery as a PDF or printed in the salon. In the admin Eliška has a daily overview, a calendar by day and week, a list of bookings to approve, voucher orders and detailed finances. She changes the price list, opening hours, holidays, website texts, reviews and gallery photos herself, and changes show on the website right away. The website stays static and fast, and visits never wake the database. Personal data is anonymised automatically when retention periods end.

Design notes

Free slots respect opening hours, holidays and exceptions, service lengths and a buffer between customers. Bookings open 3 hours ahead and up to 8 weeks out. The server recalculates price and length from its own price list and locks the slot so two people can never take it at once.
For a home visit the website only offers services that can be done outside the salon and adds a fee per kilometre. Customers can attach up to 3 inspiration photos. The browser shrinks them and stores them privately where only the admin can see them, and they are deleted after 60 days.
After booking, the customer can add the appointment to her phone calendar with a reminder the day before. The website remembers the booking and shows when Eliška confirms, moves or cancels it. It can be cancelled online only with a secret code and no later than 24 hours before.
The voucher configurator offers amounts from 300 to 20,000 CZK or a specific service from the price list, three designs and four ready made dedications, with a live preview. The admin creates the voucher as a print quality A5 PDF.
The home page has a price list for Women, Men and Children with an in salon or at home switch, and tapping a service selects it in the booking. Plus a gallery with a photo viewer, reviews from Google and Firmy.cz, contact with directions and home visit areas, and an open now line.
The How it works page answers everything before a visit in nine parts: booking, arrival, price and payment, cancellation, children, home visits, vouchers and FAQ. Every text is editable in the admin, and the phone number, rate per kilometre and number of weeks are filled in automatically.
The admin dashboard shows today's bookings and takings, bookings to approve, the next free slot as customers see it and takings for the last 8 weeks. Eliška confirms or declines a web booking with one tap and sends the customer an SMS or WhatsApp with prefilled text.
The day and week calendar colours bookings by status and shows breaks and a current time line. Tapping an empty slot creates a booking at that time. Manual bookings are checked for overlaps and opening hours, and time can be blocked for lunch or training.
Finances show takings, estimated profit after costs, average per booking, takings per hour in the chair and vouchers sold, each against the previous period. Breakdowns by service, weekday, where customers came from and top customers. Data can be exported to CSV.
In Website content Eliška edits texts, reviews, contact details, a notice above the website and the gallery. The browser shrinks photos to two WebP sizes before upload. The price list supports bulk changes in percent. Customers are built from bookings with visit count, spend and a private note.
The admin opens with a PIN, locked for 15 minutes after five wrong attempts. Forms are protected by Vercel BotID, a hidden field and limits. Bookings are anonymised after 12 months, vouchers after 24. The system has 12 emails ready, from confirmation to a reminder the day before and a PDF voucher.
