The promotion removes the initial price gap between two bundles. It does not tell you whether One will remain the better purchase in two years. Treat the introductory term and the renewal as separate decisions.
02Work out the first payment
A monthly equivalent makes long subscriptions look easy to compare. Your budget needs the full amount instead. The official pricing page showed €67.23 for the first 27 months for both Starter and One during our check, with VAT potentially added. That euro figure is verified; the dollar amount in the campaign notice is not a verified US checkout total.
Read the selected plan, currency, tax and total together. Then check the payment date: immediate payment and payment after a trial create the same long-term commitment, but they affect your account on different days.

A larger bundle has value when it takes over a useful job. If you will keep every existing subscription, its extras do not automatically reduce your spending. They may still be worth trying at the matching introductory price.
04Check the limits of each extra
Antivirus covers up to five supported Windows, macOS or Android devices. The paid VPN’s unlimited connections are a different allowance, subject to fair usage.
Alert watches for leaks involving the information you add, such as email addresses and supported identity documents. Notifications are useful only if someone follows up on them.
The Email scam checker currently needs Chrome and Gmail on the web. You request a scan of an opened email. It does not monitor every mailbox or guarantee that a message is safe.
Incogni is included with One+, not One. Keep that distinction in mind if removing personal records from data brokers is the main reason you are considering a bundle.
05A trial and a refund solve different problems
An eligible seven-day trial lets you start before the subscription charge. It automatically becomes the selected paid plan unless canceled. The trial currently allows three simultaneous VPN devices; paid subscriptions have the broader allowance. Confirm that your particular order offers the trial.
The 30-day guarantee applies to eligible first purchases after payment. You request the money back through support. Renewals, previously refunded subscriptions and certain add-ons are excluded. Store purchases can follow the store’s process.
Neither arrangement turns a long subscription into a rolling monthly plan. Put the relevant cancellation or refund deadline in your calendar instead of relying on memory.
06Renewal is the second purchase
After the initial term, Surfshark’s two-year plans renew annually. Its billing policy separates promotional rates from standard renewal rates. Matching first-term prices do not establish matching renewal prices.
To compare the first term plus one renewal, add the full 27-month payment to the next annual charge, using the same currency and tax treatment. That covers 39 months. Do not compare a 27-month total directly with a 12-month renewal and call the difference a price increase.
If you decide against renewing, cancel auto-renewal. A paid subscription continues until its term ends. Canceling future charges does not itself request a refund.
07Use the trial to test your routine
Make a small test plan before signing up. A feature list cannot tell you whether the service fits your normal day.
- Try your usual calls, work tools and websites with the VPN connected.
- Check whether the included security tools work on the devices you intend to use.
- Decide whether One replaces anything you pay for, then record the next billing date.
